Fresh off of being ranked as the #10 team in the nation, the Middlesex College Men's Soccer team defeated Montgomery 2-0 to stretch their unbeaten streak to six games.
Jamie Madrid (Sophomore/Perth Amboy, NJ) continued his fantastic season, netting his 10th goal of the year in the game's 21st minute to give the Colts (7-1-1) an early lead.
Madrid is one of just seven players in the nation on the NJCAA Division III level with double-digit goals.
Middlesex extended their lead two goals 21 minutes later when Jonathan Antonio (Freshman/Edison, NJ) scored his third goal of the season, converting a pass from Alberto Botello (Freshman/North Brunswick, NJ).
Neither team scored in the second half as the Colts were able to hold on to their 2-0 lead. It was their fourth shutout of the season.
Jayson Vassallo (Sophomore/South River, NJ) registered five saves in goal for the Colts while Jeremy Madrid (Sophomore/Perth Amboy, NJ) also spent time in net for Middlesex.
The Colts are scheduled to return to action on Thursday when they take on Drew University JV in an away non-NJCAA match. Kickoff is set for 7:00PM.
