MIDDLESEX WRESTLERS GO UNDEFEATED IN SEVEN MATCHES AT THE RUMBLE AT RUTGERS
Middlesex College wrestlers had a fantastic showing at the Inaugural Ruble at Rutgers eight-team event at the State University with all three competing wrestlers going undefeated in their matches.
Zain Ahmed (Sophomore/South Brunswick) and Kyler Rodriguez (Sophomore/South Brunswick, NJ) each went 2-0 and Nick Jairdullo (Sophomore/South Brunswick, NJ) won three matches without a loss as the Colts were the only team not to lose a match in the competition.
After pinning Naci Robinson from Union in 6:49 in his first match, Ahmed held on for a 2-1 win over his opponent from Monmouth to move to 16-5 on the season.
Rodriguez, who is 13-2 on the season, pinned his first opponent from Fordham in 2:34 and recorded a major decision in his second match.
Jairdullo pinned his first two opponents before hanging on for a 5-3 decision over his opponent from Monmouth.
The event featured a mix of club and intercollegiate teams from Rutgers, Union, Williamson, Fordham, Monmouth, Ramapo and Delaware in addition to Middlesex.
